Competition Rules Finer Points

All competitions to be fished under “General Rules” – Competitions, as displayed on the website

Competition anglers are reminded that fish are measured from the tip of the snout to the end of the middle rays of the tail fin

Competitions may be cancelled at short notice for a variety of reasons but in particular due to safety concerns regarding severe weather. If a competitor has safety concerns about the weather he should contact the Competition Convenor.

To compete for points in fly competitions you must fish from a boat and where possible be paired with a fellow competitor. In the event of you not finding a fellow competitor you must inform the Competition Convenors and they will pair you with someone. In the event of them not finding you a boat partner they may permit you to fish as a single angler.

In Fly Competitions points will not be awarded to any angler who fishes from the shore at any time during competition hours.

In Brodgar League competitions points will be awarded to any angler who fishes from the shore at any time during competition hours.
